Welcome to the pages of Lake Muskoka Cottages - this site is a private web site showcasing two water-access cottages available for rent to families, couples and individuals looking for a quiet getaway while not giving up the comforts of your city home. The cottages are located on the west side of Browning Island - Lake Muskoka providing for stunning sunsets and a bug-free experience due to the westerly breeze most days. Your day is filled with the sounds of nature - cars remain on the mainland and boat traffic is generally at a distance unless it is happens to be one of the neighboring island cottagers on this one mile wide by two mile long island. Browning Island is accessible by water only and is located via a ten minute boat ride due west or due east of either the west or east shore and is situated roughly in the centre of the lake. Nearby towns are Bracebridge and Gravenhurst. A variety of water taxis and boat rental facilities are located nearby at local marinas providing easy access to the cottages from more than four main land locations, providing for a true on-the-water Muskoka experience. Muskoka has a wide-range of amenities - ALL accessible by boat - this includes - shopping for food, liquor, clothing and Muskoka paraphernalia at nearby Port Carling or Bala - casual and fine dining at one of the many lakeside resorts - golfing at a variety of resorts from a casual nine hole - Kerrie Glen - to the world class Taboo course designed by Canada's very own Mike Weir at Taboo Resort - or hiking, cliff diving, tubing and water skiing - all on the lake.
