Located on the south west side of Browning Island, Lake Muskoka (just east of Cariquette Island) this "boat access only" private, newly built cottage (completed in June of 2009) features an open concept design, flooring ceiling windows, a stunning lake one-mile long view to the and 160' of private treed and sunny shoreline. The cottage sleeps up to 8 but is best suited to a family, ideal occupancy in comfort is 5 to 6 individuals.
Enjoy stunning sunset views from two separate sitting areas, a private deck by the cottage or a sitting area by the boathouse. Excellent swimming with both shallow and deep water, granite steps into the lake and a small sandy beach area. The cottage also has west exposure which provides for a sunny shoreline and decks from 10:00 am to sunset. A typical day-long breeze from the open waters to the west make this location virtually bug-free during daylight hours.
The cottage features an open concept design with a great room, floor to ceiling windows on the lake side, water-views on three sides from the sunroom, custom kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood and slate flooring, 20 foot ceilings, ceiling fans in each room, 2 fireplaces (one wood burning, the other propane), 2 bathrooms (one with whirlpool), 3 queen beds + two bunk beds, 52 inch plasma TV with DVD, satellite TV, high speed internet, 2 large decks and multiple sitting areas by the water.
The waterway is quiet both on weekends and during the week as the only traffic is from one of your few island neighbours. This cottage provides the true "on the water" Muskoka experience. Should you wish more privacy or have a desire to accommodate two families or a group of 8 to 10 in real comfort, rent the neighbouring cottage next door. Both cottages together provide total privacy, your own private point and over 330' of shoreline.

CLEANING POLICY: The cottage is to be cleaned by the renter prior to departure, for renters that would prefer not to clean, cleaning can be arranged in advance for an additional $150.00, the cottage however is still expected to be left tidy and does not included garbage that must be disposed of in the bins at one of the mainland marinas by the renter.
PET POLICY: Dogs are accepted from responsible pet owners based on prior approval, other pets are not accepted.
SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.
LOCATION: 185 km from downtown Toronto to one of two mainland access points - a 10 minute boat ride from either the west or east access points to the south west side of Browning Island. From the west depart from Pride of Muskoka West (halfway between Gravenhurst and Bala on Highway 169) and one mile and a half to the east. From the east depart from Allport Marina or Pride of Muskoka Marina (in Bracebridge - just off Hwy 11) and head one and a half miles to the west.
TRANSPORTATION TO THE ISLAND: For those who do not have access to a boat transportation to the island (drop-off on arrival date and pickup on departure date) is available for $30.00 per one-way trip ($60.00 return) and can be arranged through Pride of Muskoka Marina in Bracebridge or through the owner. Water taxis are also available through Campbells Landing in Gravenhurst for $40.00 per one-way trip ($80 return) and Pride of Muskoka West in Bracebridge (call to inquire about cost)
BOAT RENTALS: Boat rentals start at $495 per week for a 14 foot fishing boat with a 10 hp, motor, $809 per week for a 15 foot runabout with a 40 hp motor and $1,124 for a 17 foot bowrider with a 80 hp motor. Other boats are available as well, please click on our boat rental link for details.
A 20 foot pontoon boat (2005 Bentley, 50 hp 2-stroke engine with a full camper enclosure) is a available to rent from the owner at the rate of $800 per week. A valid boating licence and security deposit of $2,500.00 will be required.
WATER TAXIS: A water taxi is $30 for a one-way trip ($60.00 return) to the island from Pride of Muskoka Marina in Bracebridge, Campbells Landing in Gravenhurst for $40.00 per one-way trip ($80 return) and Pride of Muskoka West in Bracebridge (call to inquire about cost).
PARKING: Parking is free at the public lot at Pride of Muskoka (Bracebrige) - same location as the water taxi. Parking is also available at Allport Marina (Bracebridge), Pride of Muskoka West (Gravenhurst) or Campbell’s Landing (Gravenhurst) for $10.00 per day per car.
